The event
From October 15 to 26, 2025, Rome will host one of the most anticipated events of the year: the Festa del Cinema di Roma, celebrating its 20th edition. This iconic autumn festival transforms the Eternal City into a grand open-air stage, featuring film screenings, artist meet-and-greets, exhibitions, and glamorous red carpet events.
At the heart of the festival is the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, the architectural masterpiece designed by Renzo Piano. The Auditorium hosts the main film screenings, exclusive meetings with filmmakers and actors, and the famous red carpet, one of the longest and most photographed in the world. Each year, internationally renowned actors, directors, and cinema icons walk the red carpet, creating an unforgettable and vibrant atmosphere.
Since 2022, the Festa del Cinema di Roma has featured an international film competition, showcasing the best of global cinema. Films in competition are evaluated by a jury of cinema and cultural experts, who award prestigious prizes. For the 2025 edition, the Progressive Cinema Competition jury will be presided over by Paola Cortellesi, alongside internationally acclaimed artists and professionals.
The artistic direction of the festival is led by Paola Malanga, a renowned film critic and author, who curates a rich and engaging program every year: premiere screenings, special events, free screenings, and opportunities for the public to meet filmmakers and actors.
Organized by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, with the support of BNL BNP Paribas and numerous institutional partners, the Festa del Cinema offers a unique opportunity to experience Rome in a vibrant, international and emotionally rich atmosphere.
