Alphonse Mucha. A triumph of beauty and seduction

Alphonse Mucha. A triumph of beauty and seduction exhibition in Rome 2025 at Palazzo. Bonaparte. Featuring 150 masterpieces, this extraordinary event traces the artistic journey of Alphonse Mucha, one of the greatest masters of Art Nouveau.

The exhibition

Among the most anticipated art exhibitions in Rome in 2025, the Alphonse Mucha exhibition at Palazzo Bonaparte offers an immersive journey into the elegance of the Belle Époque. Opening on 8 October 2025, this major cultural event celebrates the refined and symbolic style of the world-renowned Czech artist.
Recognized as one of the most influential figures of Art Nouveau, Alphonse Mucha revolutionized visual communication between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His iconic theatrical posters, refined lithographs and ethereal female figures made him a symbol of artistic beauty and decorative innovation.
The Rome exhibition brings together over 150 original works from the Mucha Foundation, including posters, oil paintings, rare illustrations, preparatory sketches and decorative objects. It is a complete retrospective that retraces the evolution of Mucha’s unmistakable style.
More than just a traditional art exhibition, this event also explores the connection between beauty, graphic design, craftsmanship and advertising, revealing how Mucha shaped modern visual culture, fashion aesthetics and contemporary design. His sinuous lines, floral motifs and dreamlike atmospheres continue to inspire artists and designers around the world.
An exclusive highlight of the exhibition is the presence of a prestigious guest: Sandro Botticelli’s Venus (from the Royal Museums of Turin), a universal symbol of timeless beauty. Displayed for the first time alongside Mucha’s masterpieces, it creates a fascinating dialogue between the Italian Renaissance and the Belle Époque. The exhibition also features works by Giovanni Boldini and Cesare Saccaggi, together with period furnishings and Art Nouveau décor.
Produced by Arthemisia in collaboration with the Mucha Foundation, the exhibition is held under the patronage of the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Rome. This is a must-see cultural event for anyone planning a trip to Rome and looking for things to do in Rome in 2025.
An unmissable experience for lovers of art, history and beauty in the Eternal City.
