The exhibition
The exhibition ““Flowers. From the Renaissance to Artificial Intelligence” will be at the Chiostro del Bramante until January 18th, 2026. With over 90 works on display, the exhibition takes visitors through five centuries of creativity, innovation, and culture. The works, from 10 different countries and prestigious institutions such as the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Petit Palais, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, are complemented by the botanical and scientific collections of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in London, and the Museo Civico di Zoologia in Rome.
The exhibition explores the evocative power of flowers, capable of intertwining art, science, and technology in a timeless narrative.
The exhibition itinerary combines works from the past and present, offering a fresh perspective on the role of flowers in the evolution of society and culture. The creations on display span from the 16th to the 21st century, with a variety of paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, tapestries, photographs, site-specific installations, and works based on augmented reality and artificial intelligence, exploring the connection between nature and art. The outdoor spaces of the Cloister will also be part of the event, transformed into an enchanted garden thanks to an installation by Austin Young. Two sensory experiences: an immersive garden and an olfactory journey, enrich the event, accompanied by the narration of Alessandro Preziosi in a dedicated podcast.
The exhibition is a manifesto of sustainability that invites reflection on the relationship between humanity and nature. The works address pressing issues such as ecosystem adaptation, industrial impact, and species conservation, combining creativity and commitment to the future of the planet.
