On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo, Brivido Pop chose to exhibit his works, contemporary reinterpretations of the most famous masterpieces by the genius of Leonardo, in the street of painters, Via Margutta.
The exhibition has 16 works created using digital collages printed on canvas with the addition of paper cuttings taken from advertising posters, whose main subjects are actors, dancers, athletes and fantasy characters.
Everything blends with the protagonists of the paintings of Leonardo: so, next to the Lady with an Ermine we find the faces of Nicole Kidman and Sofia Loren, while the Gioconda sees alongside her Julia Roberts, Charlie Chaplin and the Little Mermaid.
Brivido Pop, pseudonym of Marco Innocenti, was born in Rome in 1964.
In 1996 he began his career as an art director in film communication, creating more than 300 posters of Italian and foreign movies, which allowed him to win several prizes.
In 2007 he began to create digital collages, mixing masterpieces of Renaissance and Baroque painting with clippings from movie posters.
He exhibited his works with the name of Brivido Pop in Rome, Los Angeles, Washington, Milan, London and Paris.
When: May 15th – September 15th
Where: Margutta Veggy Food & Art – Via Margutta 118, Rome
