Until the 2nd of December 2023, every first Saturday of the month the Borghese Gallery presents The Amorous Affection – Music for the works of the Galleria Borghese.
The Villa Borghese Gallery hosts the musical event The Amorous Affection – Music for the works of the Galleria Borghese. Until the 2nd of December 2023, every first Saturday of the month it will be possible to attend a concert by the musicians of the St. Cecilia Academy in Rome. Thirty minutes of music by the greatest classical composers will enliven the rooms of the museum.
The shows will be held each day in different rooms, creating harmony with the masterpieces of great artists such as Raphael, Caravaggio and Titian. A real immersive experience in Baroque and eighteenth-century culture.
In fact, the program includes contemporary music to the exhibited works or inspired by them, also linking to episodes of the Borghese family, anecdotes or paintings housed in the room, creating an evocative experience that combines art, music and history.
Galleria Borghese Museum houses a great collection of sculptures, mosaics and paintings ranging from the 15th to the 19th century. The museum owes its name to Cardinal Scipione who started the collection. Among the most important works are those of Caravaggio, Titian, Correggio, Raphael, Canova and Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The masterpieces are exhibited in the 20 frescoed rooms, while over 260 paintings are located in the storerooms of Galleria Borghese, located above the Pinacoteca.
