From the 5th of March until the 2nd of June, Scuderie del Quirinale host the exhibition dedicated to the Raphael, with over 100 important works that celebrate the Renaissance artist for the 500 years since his death, which took place in Rome in 1520. An exceptional event that tells the story of this great artist never forgotten, who influenced all the Western figurative culture.
The exhibition traces the creative life of Raphael, from Rome to Florence, from Florence to Umbria and then Urbino, his hometown. This type of flashback allows you to rethink the biographical path, starting from its maximum creative expansion in the years of Leo X. Thus, retracing the course of Raphael’s life from masterpiece to masterpiece, the visitor will be able to trace that classical language that developed in Rome and that has no precedent in the art history
The numerous masterpieces on display come from the largest Italian and European collections and represent a unique opportunity to get a close view of the inventions of the “Urbinate”. The exhibition, organized by Scuderie del Quirinale and the Uffizi Galleries, celebrates Raphael as a great universal genius, who has changed art history forever.
