Among all the Roman areas, Trastevere is the most typical and immersive, where you can enjoy the real Roman atmosphere. Hectic by night (because of the typical clubs) and charming during the day for the unexpected glimpses between an alley and another. This area is full of tipically roman clubs and markets in his narrow alleys around the famous Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere. Eating in Trastevere is like eating at home: informality, availability and suggestions on what to order. The restaurants here open a little earlier than other areas and the prices are very good.
A very particular kitchen is in Piazza San Callisto at Taverna Cave Canem. Il Cencio – La Parolaccia (Vicolo del Cinque, 3) is totally rustic, serves classical Roman dishes and the reception is very “colorful”.

Don’t hesitate to reply, and also the customer is invited to laugh at himself thanks to the “show” in which everybody make fun of everybody else.

One of the most famous and crowded is Freni e Frizioni, near Piazza Trilussa. The furnitures are all recycled objects.
Another club is Glass (Vicolo del Cinque, 58), sophisticated one-star rated Michelin restaurant, expensive but it worth it.

Every evening, around 19.30 p.m. takes place a tasteful and cheap aperitif. Later, at the end of the night, Roman people never forget to have a cornetto in one of the opened cornetterie, accompanied with a hot cappuccino on the way back.

Is a less turistic area than Trastevere, but its nightlife is equally colorful. Just a few steps away from Colosseum and from San Pietro in vincoli Church. Here you will find very original restaurants and clubs. Explore this area starting from Piazza della Madonna dei monti entering in the many alleys. Is an area famous for aperitifs and things like that.

What we suggest in this area:

  • Sciuri Sciuri (Via Urbana), Sicilian bakery
  • Fatamorgana (Piazza degli Zingari), artisanal gelateria
  • Libro Divino (Via degli Zingari), aperitifs and after dinner
  • Cuoco e Camicia (Via Monte Polacco, 2-4), one of the best restaurants in Rome
  • Ice Club Roma (Via della Madonna dei Monti), a club totally made of ice

Piazza di Campo de’ Fiori is full of young people meeting to drink something together. Sometimes it can get a little dangerous, buti f you are visiting the center of Rome you can’t avoid to stop there. From Campo de’ Fiori you can easily reach Trastevere, crossing the Ponte Sisto bridge.
What we suggest in this area:

Made famous by the movie “Tre metri sopra il cielo”, on the Lovers Bridge they like to attach the locks with their initials. In the close area there are a lot of clubs and restaurants where you can spend a lovely evening. It is an area frequented by many guys of the so-called Roma bene.
